1. Heeya: Simplest for a Chatbot on Your Documents

Heeya is our product; we assessed it with the same criteria as the others. Its approach is the opposite of Botpress: there is no flow to draw. You import your content and the agent answers from it.

What it does. An AI chatbot with RAG, trained on your PDF, DOCX, PPTX and text files, web pages (site scraping) and Q&A imports in xlsx or csv. The widget goes on WordPress, Shopify, Wix, Webflow, PrestaShop, Squarespace or a custom site with one script line. A hosted assistant page is included. The widget follows the page language, French or English.

Built-in tools. A contact form for lead capture, support tickets, appointment booking with confirmation emails, webhook, HubSpot and Pipedrive connectors (depending on plan), and an answer reliability score.

Heeya stores conversations and knowledge bases in the EU (OVH, France); message content is sent to AI providers (Google, OpenAI) that may process it outside the EU under standard contractual clauses or the Data Privacy Framework, with no training on your data. A signed processing addendum is available on request.

Good to know. Heeya is built so the AI agent answers on its own from your content; if your team wants to reply live in the widget, Tidio is a better fit. It works in French and English, with an AI model chosen and managed by the platform. Its integration catalog is shorter than Botpress's or Tidio's. If you need a precise decision tree with chained API calls, a studio like Botpress is the better fit.

Choose it if you want an agent answering from your content, live within a day, with no technical skills.

2. Chatbase: Fast RAG With Model Choice

Chatbase makes the same basic promise as Heeya: give it sources (site, PDFs, text) and it builds a chatbot. Its edge over Botpress is speed of setup. Its edge over Heeya is model choice (OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, DeepSeek and Mistral, per its pricing page) and a wider integration list including Shopify, Slack, WhatsApp and WordPress.

Pricing checked in November 2026: Hobby at $32/month billed annually ($40 monthly), Basic at $120/month ($150), Business at $400/month ($500), Enterprise on quote. Billing is by message credits, so a more powerful model burns credits faster. Data is processed in the United States, which matters to some data protection officers. 3. Landbot: Visual Conversations and Lead Capture

Landbot is a conversation-journey builder, more visual and more accessible than Botpress. It suits marketing teams that want a qualification bot: guided questions, buttons, conversational landing pages, human handover. AI is present but supports the journey rather than driving it.

4. Tidio: Live Chat and AI in One Inbox

Tidio combines live chat, ticketing, automations (Flows) and its Lyro AI agent. It is the natural pick for an online store whose team already answers customers and wants AI to absorb repetitive questions. On that specific point Tidio does better: Heeya is built so the AI agent answers on its own from your content.

5. Voiceflow: Closest to Botpress

Voiceflow plays in the same category: a visual canvas to design agents, team collaboration, integrations and multichannel deployment. It leans a little more toward conversation design and teamwork, Botpress a little more toward developers.

6. Dialogflow CX: Google Cloud Ecosystem

Dialogflow CX (now grouped by Google under "Conversational Agents") drives journeys with flows, pages and state handlers. It is more technical than Botpress still: a Google Cloud project, IAM, usage billing and a developer to reach production.

Billing is pay-as-you-go through Google Cloud (per request or per session depending on agent type); check Google's official page for current amounts.

Choose it if you already run on Google Cloud and manage a contact center with tightly controlled journeys.

7. Rasa: Open Source for Developers

Rasa is the reference open-source framework for conversational assistants, built around its CALM approach. You keep control of the code and the deployment, including on your own servers. In exchange you need engineers to install, host and maintain it.

According to rasa.com in November 2026, a free Developer edition can be used locally or in production with limits (up to 1,000 external conversations a month), and an Enterprise plan is on quote.

Choose it if you have a developer team, strict hosting requirements and want to control everything. It is not a simpler alternative; it is a more technical one.
